What Steadglobe does with your photos.
Steadglobe holds family photographs, which means it holds location data about where a family has been. These are the commitments that follow from that.
The commitments
- No public surfaceThere is no feed, no explore tab, no profile, and no follower graph. Photos are visible to the household and to whoever holds a share link the household created.
- GPS is stripped from share linksMembers see original files with their EXIF intact. Anyone opening a share link gets a derivative with the location metadata removed.
- No training, no sale, no adsYour photographs are not used to train models, are not sold, and are never used to target advertising. Steadglobe has no advertising.
- No face recognitionSteadglobe does not cluster, detect, or identify faces. Photos of children default to household-only.
- Export and deletionExport gives you a zip of the original files plus a JSON file of your places and comments. A household wipe completes within 30 days, and sooner on request.
Who else touches the data

- CloudflareR2 object storage in the EU jurisdiction for photo files; DNS and edge proxy.
- HetznerServer in Nuremberg, Germany; database.
- MapTilerMap tiles; receives the viewed area, never photos.
